Session Fees
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee for a standard 46 to 60 minute psychology session for the 2025 to 2026 financial year is $318.00. At Cove Psychology Port Macquarie, we aim to keep fees as affordable as possible. Initial intake sessions will be charged at $220.00 and subsequent sessions will be charged at $200.00. All sessions are 50 minutes in duration. If you require any report writing to be completed, this will be charged accordingly. Please note that Cove Psychology Port Macquarie is not a bulk billing practice.
Medicare
Cove Psychology Port Macquarie provides psychological treatment under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. If you are eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your general practitioner, you will be able to access a Medicare rebate of $98.95. Your out of pocket expense for an initial intake session will be $121.05, and subsequent follow-up sessions will be $101.05. Please note that payment of the full fee is required before your Medicare rebate is processed via our practice software Halaxy. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you will be eligible for up to 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year.
Referrals
You do not require a referral to access support at Cove Psychology Port Macquarie. However, should you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare, you will require a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your general practitioner and this will need to be sent through to administration prior to attending your first session with Kaitlin.
Payment Method
All payments will be made on the day of your appointment. When you complete the online intake form via Halaxy, we will ask that you provide your card details that will be securely stored in our system to make payment and process any Medicare rebate. Please note that prepayment may be required for your initial session.
